From the Pool Series
Swimming pool, paint, silver coated wooden frame

Series of folded, painted and framed paddling pools. Recurring erotic dreams involving former lovers in swimming pools are juxtaposed here with an unusual memory of my father telling me that he loved me when he taught me to swim. The pools in this series serve as anchor points for the exploration of dreams and memories, revealing themselves to be places of loss, love and desire.

Vinyl banner, 75x300cm

Two vinyl banners bearing the words I found in a fortune cookie. The phrase was taken as a pretext to come out to my parents, with whom I precisely disclosed my sexuality on the day to come, at 8pm.

Multimedia - CD player, scratched CD with audio recording
30x30x30cm, 00:06:03
Edition of 7 + 2 AP
UAL Art Collection - Archives and Special Collections Centre

Sound installation of a CD player with a scratched disc containing damaged audio recordings of my mother. I asked her if she could record herself saying things to me that she had never said, or things that she was too scared to say, knowing that I would never hear what she said on it. She agreed and sent me an 8-minute recording, which I then burned onto a CD and scratched to make it unreadable.
