Gabriel Cautain

Work
Info

Gabriel Cautain (b. 1997, France) lives and works in London.

He makes installations, photographs and videos.
His intimate and sometimes disturbing works deal with issues of isolation and the desire for connection. Exploring themes of intimacy and queer identity, his practice investigates the limits of the visible and of memory. By questioning the division between the realm of remembrance and experience, he incorporates personal narratives within universal contexts. His work manages to be both seductive in its simplicity and metaphysical in the way it elevates the mundane to something estranged.
