Visitor, 2025
Rearview mirrors, NeverTear paper
Dimensions variable

Visitor assembles ten rearview mirrors paired with temporary parking permits, transforming these everyday objects into instruments of memory and reflection. Arranged in series, the mirrors reconfigure familiar markers of mobility and pause into devices that register the fleeting traces of lived experience, each one evoking moments of passage and impermanence. Drawing on Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Space, the work explores how objects exceed their utilitarian function to become carriers of reverie, recollection, and subtle temporal shifts. The installation situates the viewer between presence and absence, individuality and collectivity, constructing a space where identity and memory merge in fragile, almost imperceptible traces. In their reflective surfaces, the ephemeral and the enduring meet, and the ordinary is transformed into a site of contemplation, loss, and lingering resonance.
